My name is Lauren and I'm a 20-something year old that loves to find the fun in life. One of my passions has always been food. There is just something about its entertainment quality and ability to bring people together that is really special. Starting sometime in college, I discovered my love for cooking. Since then, I haven't really stopped. I put a lot of love and care into everything I make, and wanted to make this blog to showcase that.
I am so blessed to come from two amazing parents. My love for food definitely started with them. My dad is from Iraq and is used to eating foods from all different cultures and places. When he met my mom in college, he started to introduce her to all his favorite foods which my mom had never been exposed to. Fortunately, they went to school in Boston so there was a wide range of things to try. By the time my brother and I came along, trying different foods and restaurants was the norm for my parents. Because of this, my brother and I were lucky to be exposed to all different types of food growing up. I think this is why I am never afraid to try something once, and I am always looking for something different on the menu.
I am surrounded by an amazing support system at home.
My dad is one of the smartest and hardest working people I know. I have been given so many amazing opportunities in my life because of him.
My mom has always put family first. She is especially caring and thoughtful, and I know I can always count on her.
My brother Jonathan may be 3 years younger than I am, but he is definitely someone I look up to. He is incredibly smart and talented and has already been able to achieve so much in his life. I am lucky to have a brother like him!
My grandparents have supported me my entire life. They are both so patient and loving. My grandpa loves to laugh and tell stories. He taught me everything I
needed to know about sports and playing poker. I can thank my grandma for
my creativity, and love for shopping and cooking. I remember being in my
grandma's kitchen when I was little helping her bake muffins.We had so much fun together.
My boyfriend Dan and I met when I was in college. He is one of the most outgoing and friendly people I know. He is also incredibly smart, loyal, dedicated, and talented. He is an amazing friend, and I have fun with him no matter what we are doing.
My boston terrier Lucky is a bundle of energy! She may be an elderly lady now, but she still has spunk! She fits into our family perfectly because she also eats everything...literally everything.... She often serves as one of my taste testers, whether intentionally or not.
