I don't know where they came up with some of the items on the list. I feel like I am pretty adventurous and open with food, but I would never try things on the list like squirrel or snake. Suprisingly though, most of the things I've crossed off are some of my favorite foods like baklava, cheese fondue, chile rellano, churros, clam chowder, crab cakes...ok I could continue, but you get the point..I have a lot of favorites!!
Here are the items on the list. I've crossed off the ones I have tried. How did you score?

I scored a 63 -- so far. Not sure I'll get through all 100, but I'll give it a try!
ReplyDeleteBut for the record, black pudding? One of the best comfort foods I've ever known. And I was beyond grossed out by it the first time. It's got a bit of a clove-y taste to it, good spice -- slice it into 1/4' - 1/2' slices and pan-fry until it's super crispy on the outside and serve with eggs and ketchup. YUM!
Also, spaetzle? I actually just made this at home for the first time (http://jamesbeard.org/recipes/dill-spaetzle) -- so easy and a great side dish. I tossed mine with some fresh asparagus and lemon juice and zest, super fresh tasting :)
Hey Lena! Thanks for the tip. The spaetzle looks like it would be a great spring/summer dish. I'll have to try it.
